Selecting Your Portraits

 

How You Will See Your Images ...

To help you in your selection, the images you see will be shown projected on a 72 "x 72" screen, not as small proofs. This will allow you to see your originals larger than life-size to make sure the expressions, poses, and retouching are perfect in every way. We can adjust cropping, change from color to B&W or sepia and zoom in on the faces. Then, when your poses are narrowed down to your favorites, they can be shown to you actual size! You will be able to see the portraits the way they will look when they are finished, in the sizes most appropriate for your home. There is no extra charge for this service.

The Appointment...

Because the portrait originals are projected and do not leave the studio, it is essential that both parents be present at the selection appointment. (Adults only, please!) The purpose of the appointment is to make your final decisions on images, sizes, quantities, finishing, and framing. There will be many images for you to view and many decisions for you to make so the process may take longer than you expect. Do plan to spend at least three to four hours at this appointment so that you can make all your decisions in one visit. If return visits are necessary, our fee is $600 per hour as second visits preclude us seeing other clients.

 

Advance Preparation ...

Viewing the many beautiful portraits that Sterling has created for you is going to be very exciting. We know that you will be pleased at how wonderful they are and that you will fall in love with most of them. Some clients are overwhelmed by the large number of marvelous images (especially if they thought there would only be one or two good ones) and they find themselves at a loss even after a few hours reviewing them. To help you avoid this situation, we recommend reading the tip sheet and discussing in advance what you might like to get if you are really pleased with the images. This will make the selection process easier, shorter, and more enjoyable.
