Traveling to Do Your Portrait Session
All of our portraits are created on location, generally at our clients’ homes, gardens or vacation places. Sometimes we are asked to go to a park, beach or resort area. We are happy to travel to whatever location you might desire for your portrait session, whether in the local area, out of the state, or out of the country.
We do not charge extra for travel nor for the additional time required for traveling. Outside the immediate area, we ask our clients to pay some of the travel-related expenses we incur. (see below)
However, because traveling for a portrait session prevents us from accommodating other clients during our absence, we do ask for a minimum purchase amount based upon the specifics of your session and the travel required. This purchase is paid in advance in order to reserve a date for the portrait session and is fully refundable if the session must be canceled (with reasonable advance notice). Only amounts paid directly to us by you apply towards the minimum order. Items purchased from a third party, such as an auction donation, or given to you, such as a gift certificate, do not apply. If a purchased item is discounted, the actual amount paid to us applies towards the minimum order, not the full price. Creation fees do not apply towards the minimum order.
For portrait locations within 75 miles of the gallery:
no additional travel expenses
For portrait locations 75 miles to 150 miles from the gallery:
- lodging (if we deem necessary) the night before a morning portrait session
or the night after an evening portrait session (one or two rooms may be
required)
no charge for meals or travel time - no charge for transportation or fuel if we drive and if one vehicle is sufficient
- advance order of $10,000 required (specifics explained above)
For international locations or U.S. locations over 150 miles from the gallery, arrangements will be made on a case-by-case basis. At a minimum:
- two or more nights of lodging, two or more rooms as needed
- no charge for meals or travel time
- transportation expenses for minimum of three or four persons by air or rail (our choice) and for equipment
- rental car from arrival through departure (full-size SUV may be required)
- advance order required will be not less than $15,000 (specifics explained above); more may be required depending on time needed for travel and session
