Traveling to Do Your Portrait Session

 

Sterling Portraits is unique in that all of our portraits are created on location. We consider the world to be our studio! Our destination portraiture enables you to have a Sterling Portrait experience wherever your dreams may take you. In addition to local destinations, we can travel regionally, nationally and internationally to make your portraits and your vacation unique and memorable. We can meet you at the beach, in the mountains, at your vacation home or join you on your cruise. We welcome your wildest dreams.

 

Vacation Portraits
Our clients take outrageous vacations and honeymoons to extraordinary locations. A chief concern of ours when doing vacation portraits is to create incredible images while not detracting from the vacation experience. We realize that just because you are delighted by the idea of having the portraits made does not mean you wish to spend your entire cruise or romantic get-away with us.

 

Portrait sessions that are 151 miles or further from our gallery require a prepaid commission of $40,000 or more plus travel expenses for our team. The number of days we will spend away from our gallery will be a key factor in determining the required amount for the prepaid commission. So, for example, a ten-day trip to Fiji would have a higher commission requirement than a four-day trip to the beaches of San Diego. We generally allow a minimum of four days even for sessions where we anticipate doing all of the portraiture on one day. This allows us to have adequate time to scout locations, a backup day in case of bad weather or an illness in your family, and an extra day in case of travel delays or difficulties. Typical travel expenses would include, but are not limited to, airfare, lodging, parking, meals and rental vehicles.

 

Portrait sessions that are 76 to 150 driving miles from the gallery require a prepaid commission of $25,000 plus travel expenses for our team. The details and arrangements will be specific to your session but typically include reimbursement for gas, tolls, parking, lodging and meals. Nearby locations within 75 driving miles of the gallery generally require no arrangements or fees beyond what is outlined on the Commissions and Creation Fees page.
